Data Sources

Version 2026-04-28

GradeYield uses publicly-available marketplace data and publicly-stated fee information from third-party grading companies to power its estimates. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the companies named below unless explicitly stated. All trademarks, service marks, and brand names are the property of their respective owners.

Market data

Multi-source comp lookup. When configured, GradeYield queries MySlabs sold comps and eBay active listings together and picks the best source for each PSA grade bucket — preferring sold comps when available, falling back to active listings to fill missing grades. Sources are always labeled; we never silently average sold prices and asks.

MySlabs coverage skews toward vintage and mainstream slabs. Modern Prizm-class rookies and variant-heavy product lines may have thin or zero MySlabs results; the calculator falls back to eBay active listings (asking, not sold) for those buckets and labels them accordingly. Pasting sold comps from a source you trust still produces the tightest estimate when our automated sources come up short.

Active listing comps (not sold listings)

GradeYield queries the public eBay Browse API for current raw and graded active listings to power Comp Lookup, Value History, and the calculator. Active listings reflect ask prices, not realized sale prices — they are a useful proxy but can run higher than recent sold comps. Listings are filtered, parsed, and aggregated server-side; we do not control the underlying data and do not guarantee that any specific listing is accurate, complete, or representative of fair market value.

User-supplied sold comps

Pasted from a source you trust

GradeYield does not scrape third-party sold-comp sites. If you have access to sold prices from 130point, PSA Auction Prices Realized, eBay's sold-listings filter, or auction-house result pages, you can paste them into the Find Comps modal — GradeYield will parse the prices and label the result as “user-supplied sold comps.” Pasted comps are treated as estimates from a source you trust, not verified data.

When the autofill flow runs, MySlabs sold comps take precedence over active eBay listings on a per-grade basis. Pasting your own comps is a separate, explicit workflow — and remains the right call whenever you have realized sales from a source the automated sources don't cover.

Accuracy and freshness

Grading companies update their fees and tiers periodically. Always verify any number that materially affects a buy/grade/sell decision against the source directly.
