What our tools are — and aren't
GradeYield helps you reason about whether grading a card is likely to be worth it. It does not tell you what grade you will receive, what your card will sell for, or what the market will do tomorrow. PSA, BGS, SGC, and CGC apply subjective standards to every card they grade; we cannot replicate that process and do not try to.
Tool-specific notes
Calculator
Open →Estimate based on your inputs and recent active-listing data. Not a prediction of grading outcomes, sale price, or profit, and not financial advice.
The grading-ROI calculator combines your inputs (cost basis, raw value, grade probabilities, fees) with recent active-listing comps to produce an expected-value estimate. It is decision-support — not a guarantee of grade outcome, sale price, or profit.
Centering Pre-Screen
Open →Pre-screen guidance only. Not a grade prediction. PSA, BGS, SGC, and CGC use subjective standards we cannot replicate.
The centering tool measures border ratios in your uploaded image and flags whether the card looks within typical PSA/BGS/SGC/CGC tolerance bands. It is a pre-screen to help you avoid clearly bad submissions. Grading companies use subjective standards we cannot replicate, and image quality, angle, and lighting all affect the measurement. Images are processed in your browser and are not stored on GradeYield servers.
Compare Scenarios
Open →All figures are estimates. Comparing two cards does not predict which will be more profitable.
The compare tool runs the same calculator math on two scenarios side by side. Both columns are estimates and inherit every limitation of the single-card calculator. A higher EV in one column does not predict that card will actually return more.
Value History
Snapshot of recent comp medians from third-party marketplaces. Past prices do not predict future prices and may be incomplete or delayed.
Value History shows recent comp medians from third-party marketplaces. Data may be incomplete, delayed, or affected by listing-quality issues. Past prices do not predict future prices, and the chart is not an appraisal.
Profit Tracker
Open →Profit figures are estimates derived from your inputs and recent comp data. Actual sale price, fees, and grading outcomes will vary.
Profit Tracker records cards through the buy → submit → grade → sell lifecycle. Realized P/L is computed from the values you enter; unrealized estimates are derived from the calculator and recent comps. Actual sale price, fees, and grading outcomes will vary.
Batch Submission Analyzer
Open →Bulk results inherit the same caveats as single-card estimates and have not been individually verified.
The batch analyzer runs many cards through the calculator at once and ranks them by expected ROI. Each row carries the same caveats as a single-card estimate, has not been individually verified, and is sensitive to input quality.
SlabReserve
Open →SlabReserve helps you organize and watch cards. Saved estimates are informational only and update only when you trigger a refresh.
SlabReserve helps you organize and watch cards. Saved estimates are informational only and do not auto-update — they reflect comp data at the time you saved or last refreshed the card.
Market volatility
Sports card prices are volatile. Comps you see today may not reflect the price your card actually sells for. Player performance, hobby trends, supply changes, and marketplace fee changes can all move the math materially between when you run a calculation and when you actually transact.
Third-party fees and policies
Grading fees, turnaround times, marketplace selling fees, payment processing fees, shipping, and tax are all set by third parties and can change without notice. Always verify current numbers directly with PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC, eBay, or your shipper before making a decision based on a GradeYield estimate. See our data sources page for more.
Not financial advice
Nothing on GradeYield constitutes financial, investment, tax, or professional advice. All decisions about whether to buy, grade, sell, or hold a card are yours. Do your own research and consult appropriate professionals where appropriate.
